Designing T-Mobile’s CyberSecurity Defense Center

T-Mobile needed help in envisioning their new Cybersecurity Defense Center (CDC) — a showcase for customers and a working space that embodied T-Mobile’s commitment to nurturing its people, investing in their future, and becoming the global leader in telecommunications cybersecurity defense. As Group Creative Director at Designit, I oversaw research and design of the new space. I also oversaw creation of promotional videos for T-mobile’s internal marketing purposes. The team I led consisted of design directors, art directors, designers, copywriters, and video editors. 

Our mission was to change brand perception within the Cybersecurity industry amongst T-mobile customers and enterprise partners by designing a space where customers will be wowed and employees can thrive. The team embarked on an extensive research initiative, identifying key trends and gathering insights through comprehensive workshops and interviews with CDC staff, stakeholders, and branding experts. This rigorous research process culminated in “The Artist Workshop” — a concept seamlessly blending the dynamic, creative environment of an atelier with modern industrial elements. Our concept and 3D renders brought the T-Mobile brand to life throughout the new CDC — from strategically placed collaboration spaces and client-focused areas, to individual workstations and employee relaxation rooms. The final concept became a showcase of sustainable, modern operation for visiting customers, and a workspace enhancing the employee experience.

Because T-Mobile had not finalized their office location, we created a modular design system that provided spatial layout flexibility for use within any office space. This approach proved critical in helping T-Mobile select the perfect building location for their new CDC.

Our strategy and final spatial designs enabled T-Mobile to operationally move directly into the build phase of the CDC project. Once online in 2026, the CDC will be the facility that elevates T–Mobile’s brand perception, empowers employees to better collaborate when responding to threats, and helps establish the company as the global industry leader in telecommunications security.
